Preschool

At High Five Academy, we are committed to providing your children the best education possible.

Our preschool is an educational based program designed to prepare children for future academic success. At High Five Academy, we believe in the importance of early learning by encouraging students to be curious, expressive and attentive. We focus on the development of academic, communication, classroom and social skills. The preschool program expands on the interest of the child, and challenges their thinking, encouraging them to explore, ask questions and discover.

When: September – June

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Times: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Ages: 3 – 4 years

All our preschool students graduate knowing all their alphabet letters, sounds and numbers. Most are able to print all their letters (uppercase and lowercase), their numbers and some can even print their names. They learn to speak English, develop a large vocabulary, communicate their thoughts, follow directions, take turns and interact with their teachers and peers. They also learn self-help and independence skills that are so necessary upon entering kindergarten. But most importantly, our students enter the school system ready to learn and engage.

In addition, we support the diverse needs of all students and therefore work closely with parents and community services to provide the best possible experience and outcome for each student with special needs.

Our program supports the Ontario Kindergarten Curriculum and focuses on English, Math, and Science. It is developed and taught by Ontario Certified Teachers and assisted by Early Childhood Educators. On-going assessments are conducted and formal report cards are given to students in January and June. Graduation is held at the end of June for all students who attend the full school year. During Graduation, students are presented with High Five Academy Graduation Diplomas and High Five Academy Character Awards.
